Aperol Spritz enters RTS space
Campari-owned Aperol has become the latest brand to join the ready-to-serve (RTS) movement by launching a single-serve format in the UK.
Aperol Spritz Ready to Serve is described as a perfectly balanced, pre-mixed version of the classic Aperol Spritz cocktail. It has been crafted to deliver the classic Aperol Spritz flavour profile in a convenient format, designed for ease of serve and consistency. Loris Contro, Italian icons brand ambassador at Campari Group UK, commented: “As one of the most recognisable cocktails in the world, Aperol Spritz has long been enjoyed as part of relaxed, sociable moments. Now, these spontaneous moments can take place unpredictably, with the perfect Aperol Spritz at your fingertips. “With Aperol Spritz Ready to Serve, we’re delighted to offer a convenient way to enjoy the same high-quality cocktail, without the need for mixing – simply chill and pour over ice with an orange slice for a perfectly balanced serve.” Made with Aperol’s unchanged ‘secret recipe’, which blends citrus oil infused with herbs and roots, the drink is ‘perfectly balanced’ with sparkling wine and soda. Each 200ml bottle clocks in at 9% ABV. The serve is said to be ideal for outdoor gatherings, al fresco dining, or relaxed aperitivo moments, and for the full experience, it is recommended the serve is paired with traditional light bites or savoury snacks. The new format is offered in packs of four for RRP £13 (US$17). It will be available in Waitrose and on Amazon and Ocado in the week commencing 24 March, with Sainsbury’s and Morrisons to follow a week later. Asda, Tesco and Co-op will follow in April. In January, Aperol made a play for the après-ski season. The brand was the second best-selling speciality spirit in The Brand Champions 2024 report.
