Alcoholic ginger beers debut in UK
Sunnyside Drinks Co will launch a range of alcoholic ginger beers in the UK this summer.
The range will feature two flavours – Sunnyside Alcoholic Ginger Beer and a tropical variant – both made with organic ginger and lemons. The tropical flavour features natural passionfruit and pineapple flavourings. The drinks will release on 3 April on the brand’s website for £26 (US$32.93) for 12 x 250ml cans and on Amazon for £29.99 (US$37.99).The beverages are canned at 4% ABV and are free from preservatives, colourings, sweeteners, wine and foaming agents.
Sunnyside Drinks Co was established in 2022 by Christian Heath, who returned to the UK after living in Australia for 12 years, where fresh-pressed alcoholic ginger beer has a bigger presence.
The brand raised nearly £10,000 (US$12,580) on Kickstarter.
Heath said: “When I got back to the UK, I was amazed to find that my favourite kind of alcoholic ginger beer was so hard to come by. I knew how good it tasted, how popular it was in other countries and how much the market was growing.
“We’re super proud to be launching Sunnyside ginger beer to the market in time for summer 2024. UK consumers can now enjoy a refreshing fresh-pressed gluten-free ginger beer without it being full of preservatives, colourings, sweeteners, foaming agents or wine.
“We believe no one in the UK makes ginger beer quite like us.”
Earlier this month, Jack Daniel’s debuted a ready-to-drink ginger ale.
