Aber Falls launches Small Batch Welsh Gin
Welsh spirits producer Aber Falls has expanded its portfolio with the launch of Small Batch Welsh Gin.
The brand’s new gin is produced at the distillery in Abergwyngregyn and is made using water from Rhaeadr Fawr – the Aber Falls waterfall. Aber Falls Small Batch Welsh Gin is said to “lead with the floral aroma of lavender, which is complemented with the ever-present piney juniper”. It is also said to have notes of peppery spice and a long-lasting sweet finish. Bottled at 43% abv, with an RRP of £32 (US$41) per 700ml, the new gin is available in a blue glass bottle, which is embossed with the brand’s own design. Aber Falls’ newest gin will be available in Booths Supermarket stores across northern England. The brand has also secured additional listings with Ocado and Tesco for other expressions in its portfolio of gin and gin liqueurs. James Wright, managing director at Aber Falls, said: “So far, 2018 has been an outstanding first year for the Aber Falls brand and everyone involved. The launch of our latest Small Batch Welsh Gin marks another major highpoint as we extend and enhance our range to capitalise on the premium gin trend and current demand. "Additionally, the Booths listing gives us the opportunity to put Aber Falls on the map in northern England and we’re equally thrilled to be further embedded into our home country with the new presence throughout Tesco, too.” Aber Falls, which launched its first dry gin expression in April, produced a one-off gin expression that was distilled at the top of the highest mountain in Wales.
