Swedish cider producer Kopparberg has moved into the ready-to-drink (RTD) market with the launch of a canned strawberry and lime-flavoured gin and lemonade.The launch of the new RTD comes just a month after the Swedish producer entered the spirits category with a strawberry and lime-flavoured gin. This was followed by a limited edition mixed fruit-flavoured gin, unveiled last week. Packaged in a 250ml can, Kopparberg Premium Gin & Lemonade has an abv of 5% and contains 125 calories per serve. The new offering is targeted at summer outdoor occasions and parties this year. The spirit-based RTD was created due to the fact that “impulse occasions continue to be a strong driver of growth” for the cider brand. Rob Salvesen, head of marketing, said: “We wanted to continue the momentum and excitement surrounding the launch of Kopparberg Premium Gin and launch RTDs into the UK market ahead of summer. “The perfect serve of Kopparberg Premium Gin & Lemonade was designed to enhance the natural flavours of the gin and offer a taste profile sweet enough for a long, hot summer. “It’s the perfect drink to enjoy with friends and we’re very excited to offer Kopparberg fans another addition to the Kopparberg family.” Kopparberg Premium Gin & Lemonade is available in single 250ml cans (RRP £1.95) and 4x250ml cans priced at £6.
