A number of big-name brands in the world of brown spirits have officially changed hands.
Brown-Forman today announced that it has completed the sale of Early Times, Canadian Mist and Collingwood to fellow global alcohol company Sazerac.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
The deal includes the Canadian Mist distillery in Collingwood, Canada, and was made official on July 31, according to the company release. Brown-Forman first disclosed this business move back in June.
Brown-Forman is now out of the Canadian whisky industry, shedding in Canadian Mist the third-highest selling Canadian whisky brand in the world. Instead, the company intends to focus on its American whiskey brands, which include Jack Daniel’s, Woodford Reserve and Old Forester.
