Now in its sixth year, the Blood Oath bourbon series has announced the launch of Blood Oath Pact No. 6, coming this spring.
The series – the creation of Lux Row Distillers’ Head Distiller and Master Blender John Rempe – combines three bourbons. For Pact No. 6, Rempe chose a 14-year high-rye bourbon with notes of oak and leather, the company says, with an 8-year, warm, toasty high-rye bourbon, and complemented them both with a 7-year high-rye bourbon rested in cognac casks.
“This particular pact is special in that the cognac barrels added some sweetness and a slight fruity, brandy flavor to the bourbon,” says Rempe.
As with all other Blood Oath expressions, Pact No. 6 is a limited edition, never to be repeated, with only 17,000 cases produced and sold globally.
This expression continues with the tradition of a 98.6 proof — the temperature of human blood — and is packaged in a wooden display box. The suggested retail price is $99.99 per 750-ml bottle.
“The Blood Oath series launched in 2015 and it’s hard to believe we have already created more than half a decade of Pacts,” says Rempe. “I’m honored to see consumers searching for the new release every year and get as excited as I am when a new Pact hits the shelves.”
